Custom Yurt Options

Shelter Designs strives to provide an optimal home environment or guest retreat to serve your needs for comfortable and sustainable living. In addition to our standard yurt packages, we offer custom options for windows, walls, doors and items that will improve your yurt's ability to withstand Montana and Idaho winters. Insulation package and interior fabric liner. Shelter Designs insulation package will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This effective, reflective product has proven itself through many extreme Montana seasons.

Stove jack for wood or gas heat. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page to see what is best for you.

Custom wall heights can be made to fit your specific needs.

Custom colors available for outer shell.  Contact Shelter Designs for a complete list.

Snow and Wind Kit. A structural component which increases the yurt’s ability to withstand extreme load conditions.

Cat pole (Catastrophic Situation Pole). A central pole designed to support roof in extreme conditions. This option is ideal when the yurt is mostly unoccupied or is not maintained during harsh winter conditions.

Screen door.

Compression ring screen cover.

Door options. Shelter Designs offers several door concepts for your yurt. Our basic door does not include a window. We can add a thermal-paned window. If you desire multiple entrances, we can add another door. In our larger models a French door is sometimes ideal.

Additional or non standard sized windows.

Insulated Window coverings. If you get the insulation package we strongly suggest you insulate your windows coverings.
